Si Se Puede

The scene last night at the election party was intense. Every state announced by CNN was met by cheers as they fell one by one to Obama. McCain was congratulated with boos at his won states. As the polls closed, people counted down like it was New Years Eve.

It was strange that a bar full of Americans where we’re all so far away, so removed from the event, still managed to come together and celebrate the only way we know how: loud and obnoxiously.

Thankfully for us Americans overseas we wont have to take the ridicule anymore. We will no longer be associated with George Bush and his Mousekateer hat wearing days!

Sunday Bike Ride

I rode a bike in Buenos Aires traffic. That is something to be proud of and while swerving around cars and curbs I actually enjoyed myself. For those of you not familiar with Buenos Aires traffic let me catch you up: there’s little regard for traffic lights, lots of honking, and near crashes every minute. Maybe it’s because my middle name is Danger, but it was kind of exciting.

The city bike riding was actually just a pre-cursor to our riverside ride. The trip even included my first  taste of choripan. An Argentine favorite which consists of a sliced open sausage fit between two pieces of bread. Riding on a meaty stomach might not have been the best idea but it was worth it.

Open Letter

Dear Argentines,

Must you make out in public places. Is it really necessary to put your full on tonguing on display for the masses. There seems to be no boundaries with couples straddling each-other in parks filled with children, groping in restaurants, and canoodling on the streets.

I can understand PDA. I’ve surely partaken in my fare share. However, I’ve seen some lewd things. Why don’t you take this action to the bedroom? Surely you’d be more comfortable there. Or at least take yourself to the nearest sex hotel.

Thank you for your time.

SIncerely,

Josh
